Section 45
Maternity leave
: (1) A pregnant female worker shall be entitled to fourteen weeks of maternity leave before or after delivery.
(2) Pregnant workers must take leave from at least two weeks before the expected date of delivery to at least six weeks after delivery.
(3) Women workers who take maternity leave as per sub-section (1) will get full wages for sixty days and will not get wages for the rest of the period.
(4) If a recognized physician recommends that additional rest is necessary for the health of a female worker who has given birth or her infant, the employer shall grant paid leave of up to one month in addition to the period mentioned in sub-section (1) in addition to the period mentioned in sub-section (1) as continuous with the maternity leave, or shall be adjusted to other leaves. .
(5) If the child of a female worker who is pregnant for seven months or more is stillborn or has a miscarriage, she will get the same leave as if she has given birth.
(6) If the mother dies less than sixty days after the birth of the child, the worker whose wife dies shall receive the child care allowance from the employer for the remainder of the period. (7) If the wife of a male worker gives birth, she will get 15 days maternity leave with pay.
